Climate Forum Is Saturday

By
Christopher Walsh

The implications of climate change for the South Fork will be the topic at a climate change forum and benefit, scheduled for Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the South Fork Natural History Museum in Bridgehampton.

Speakers at the 6 p.m. panel discussion will include Michael B. Gerrard, a professor at Columbia University and the author of several books on environmental law; Carl Safina, co-chairman of Stony Brook University’s Center for Communicating Science; Jack Rivkin, chief investment officer of Altegris Group, an investment company focused on alternatives; Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. of New York’s First Assembly District, and Assemblyman Steve Englebright of the Fourth District.

Tickets are $150 for individuals and $75 for students. V.I.P. tickets, which include a post-event dinner and meeting with the speakers hosted by Andy Sabin, the museum’s founder and president of its board, cost $500. Proceeds will benefit the museum’s new climate change programming, which is expected to launch in the fall.
