The Hamptons International Film Festival opens its box office today for advance sales of individual tickets. While a program was not available by press time, the festival has announced that it will honor Richard Gere with the Golden Starfish Award for Lifetime Achievement in Acting on Oct. 6.

The festival, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, will run from Oct. 4 through Oct. 8 in East Hampton and other venues on the South Fork.

Mr. Gere will be featured in conversation with Alec Baldwin on Oct. 6, and a presentation of one of his first films, Terrence Malik’s “Days of Heaven,” will be part of the festival’s program.

Ann Roth, a costume designer, will also be honored on Oct. 6 by both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the film festival. Guests at the event will include Nathan Lane and Mike Nichols with Alina Cho, a CNN correspondent, serving as host and moderator.

Last month, Variety magazine announced that it will participate in the festival with its 10 Actors to Watch: Breakthrough Performers. The actors include Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Bella Heathcote, Dree Hemingway, Boyd Holbrook, Elyas M’Barek, Scoot McNairy, Nate Parker, Imogen Poots, and Alicia Vikander. The actors will take part in various events and their films will be screened as part of the program.
