Guild Hall will present the Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD’s “Carmen” on Saturday at 1 p.m. Bizet’s melodrama features Anita Rachvelishvili in the title role and Aleksandrs Antonenko as her lover Don Jose. Ildar Abdrazakov completes the triangle as Escamillo, the bullfighter who comes between them. Pablo Heras-Casado conducts. Tickets are $22, $20 for members, and $15 for students.

On Sunday, the series Table Talk will return, with Rita Plush and Debra Scott offering pointers to aspiring writers who hope to see their manuscripts published. The free discussion begins at 11 a.m.

Next weekend, the Round Table Theatre Company’s production of “Hamlet” begins with a three-week run. Morgan Vaughan will direct a cast including Tristan Vaughan as the Danish prince, Dianne Benson as Gertrude, Jeff Keogh as Claudius, Josh Gladstone as Polonius, John Tramontana as Horatio, Fabrienne Bottero as Ophelia, and Evan Davis as Laertes. Other cast members are Peter Connolly, Sawyer Avery, and Michael Bartoli.

Tickets are $25, $23 for members, and $15 for students. All tickets for Guild Hall performances are available at the box office before the performance, or at guildhall.org.
