Hidden away in Noyac, this year’s Hampton Designer Showhouse is a reflection of current tastes and trends inside and out.

The annual benefit for the Southampton Hospital brings together local developers and designers from near and far to offer their take on the glamour and casual feeling of a South Fork summer home.

In this case, the traditional exterior by Bodenchak Design and Build hides an open plan and modern finishes within, matching the tastes of today’s homebuyers, according to Frank Bodenchak, a developer and real estate agent who built the house, which is at 1597 Noyac Path.

Tony Manning, the showhouse producer, said on a tour of the interior during the final days before its July opening that the themes seen throughout the building were related to texture and organic shapes and materials. Those themes reverberate throughout the house in the fabrics, wall coverings, artwork and objects, lighting fixtures, upholstery, rugs, and throws.

Blue and white, while a major theme in the great room, has been usurped by shades of white, gray, and brown. Pops of color emerge here and there, either in entire rooms such as the master sitting room or in artwork or other details in some of the tonal rooms.

While much of the coloration is neutral, the spaces are not boring. Textures of bedspreads, rugs, table coverings, walls, and even lamps are unusual and unexpected.

The showhouse will remain open through Labor Day.
