The Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival, to be held at the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor from Dec. 1 through Dec. 4, has named Alex Gibney the winner of its 2016 Career Achievement Award. Mr. Gibney is known for films that challenge authority and convention, among them “Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room,” “The Armstrong Lie,” “We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks,” “Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine,” and “Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief.”

The festival will also celebrate 30 years of memorable American Masters documentary films with a screening of “Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise” on Dec. 2. Susan Lacy, the creator of American Masters, and Michael Kantor, its executive producer, will attend, as will the film’s directors, Rita Whack and Bob Hercules.
