Jazz and Selfies
Nilson Matta, a creative force in the evolution and popularity of Brazilian jazz in the United States, will perform at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill tomorrow at 6 p.m. as part of its Jazz en Plein Air series.
Since coming to New York in 1985, Mr. Matta, a bass player, has worked with both American and Brazilian jazz luminaries and created his own musical signature.
The Golden Pear Café will serve beer, wine, and food throughout the evening. Seating is limited; first come, first served.
The museum is celebrating National Camera Day on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Say Cheese, a new event that encourages photographers of all ages and levels of experience to participate.
The program will include activities, demonstrations, and “artlympics” challenges. Local photographers will be on hand, the Lichtenstein Theater will be transformed into a camera obscura, and an onsite photo booth will be available to visitors.
Both programs are free with museum admission.
