Diners’ Coupon Book

An opportunity to dine at 34 restaurants on the East End with a buy-one-entree-get-one-free discount is available via a coupon book, the sales of which benefit East End Hospice. Now in their 14th year, the fund-raising books have remained at a price of $100 and can be ordered online at eeh.org.

Participating restaurants include Bay Burger and the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, Foody’s and Hampton Coffee Company in Water Mill, the Lobster Roll on Napeague, Babette’s and Rowdy Hall in East Hampton, the Sea Grille at Gurney’s Inn and the Surfside Inn restaurant in Montauk, the Coast Grill in North Sea, Shippy’s Pumpernickels and the Publick House in Southampton, Townline BBQ in Sagaponack, as well as a few restaurants in Westhampton Beach, Hampton Bays, and on Shelter Island and the North Fork.

Coupons are not valid at most restaurants on weekends or holidays.

Sag Chamber Discount

The Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce is offering a discount of $50 on its 2013 membership fee for businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals through Sunday. The organization has also upgraded its Web site and online directory; there is now the ability to post logos, photos, and videos, and add links to social media pages and Web sites.

This year’s membership benefits include a listing in the online directory, literature at the chamber’s windmill information center next to Long Wharf, ads in newspapers, online, and on radio, promotion of chamber events, a monthly e-newsletter, discounts at participating chamber merchants and events, and voting rights. More details can be found at sagharborchamber.com.

Movement Training

PhilosoFit, a private movement-training studio, opened this month in the DeSanti building on Lumber Lane in East Hampton. The studio, owned by Ari Weller, a private fitness trainer, offers movement therapy to “help clients re-establish authentic, pain-free movement while changing their bodies.” The goal, Mr. Weller said in a release, is to “build a better body by first building a solid movement base.”

Trainers use such methodologies as functional strength training, Pilates, Gyrotonics, NeuroKinetic therapy, Ki-Hara resistance stretching, and heart-rate variability training.

Melissa Roach, a Pilates teacher who had her own studio here, on Newtown Lane, will run PhilosoFit’s Pilates program. In addition to the Pilates machines, the studio will have a cardiovascular section with self-powered cardio tools that “force functional muscle performance as the electronic mechanism.” And, according to Mr. Weller, the studio will be the first in East Hampton with multiple year-round certified Gyrotonics trainers. Its Web site is philosofit.com.
