New at L.I. Radio

Stephanie McNamara-Bitis has been named vice president and general manager of Long Island Radio Broadcasting’s Hamptons cluster of radio stations — 102.5 WBAZ, 101.7 WBEA, and 92.9/96.9 WEHM.

Ms. McNamara-Bitis comes to the radio company with 30 years of experience at such stations as WABC 770 AM, the classic ock station Q104 FM, the Univision flagship Spanish language station WADO, WFAN Sports Radio 660 AM, and 101.9 FM.

Lauren Stone, the owner of Long Island Radio Broadcasting, said in an announcement Ms. McNamara-Bitis “is a proven radio veteran with an extensive background from some of the largest and most recognizable names in the communications industry.” “Stephanie has a history of coaching winners and creating successful, long term relationships with her client,” Ms. Stone said. “We are thrilled that she is bringing that leadership, experience, creativity, and contacts to our team in the Hamptons.” Ms. McNamara-Bitis has lived on the East End for close to 20 years. She was recently elected to the Sag Harbor School District’s Board of Education and she also is vice president of the parish council of the Greek Orthodox Church in Southampton.

In addition to Ms. McNamara-Bitis’s appointment, Ms. Stone announced Harry Wareing has been promoted to director of programming and operations, joining Ms. McNamara-Bitis and Suzanne Wolfson on the management team.  Mr. Wareing has been with Long Island Radio Broadcasting since 2001. Ms. Wolfson, the general sales manager since 2009, is a former on-air personality who has been with the group since 1993.

This article has been updated since its publication on Oct. 8. It originally stated that Ms. Wolfson had recently been promoted to general sales manager. That is not the case.
