    The proposed purchase of three properties with money from the community preservation fund will be the subject of an East Hampton Town Board hearing next Thursday night at 7, at Town Hall.

    One parcel, just shy of six acres, is at 41 Three Mile Harbor Road in Springs, just north of Halsey’s Marina, on Three Mile Harbor. It is owned by the Prand Corporation. The purchase price is $3 million.

    The second piece of land the town is looking to buy is at 20 Gloucester Avenue in Montauk, a .44-acre lot owned by Loretta La Ruffa. The cost is $190,000.

    The third proposed purchase is at 117 Greenwich Street in Montauk; the owners are Frank and Carol Foti. A third of an acre, its sale price is $225,000.

    The board will also hold a hearing next Thursday on limiting through traffic on a network of streets including Cooper Lane, Palma Terrace, Sherrill Road, Osborne Lane, Miller Lane, Indian Hill Lane, and Miller Lane West and East, as well as excluding trucks weighing over nine tons, except for local deliveries, from those streets.

    The proposal is in response to an appeal from a resident who said that the neighborhood is inundated with traffic seeking a way around chokepoints on nearby main roads. However, other residents who spoke to the town board last week said the restriction was unnecessary, and would cause a bigger traffic tie-up on Cedar Street. One suggested that Indian Hill Lane be made a one-way street.

    Following a hearing last Thursday night, the board approved the purchase of close to 12 acres on Town Line Road in Wainscott for $1.2 million from the preservation fund, and of 6.2 acres on Fresh Pond Road in Amagansett for $635,000, also from the fund.
