Last-Minute Help for Voters

By
Star Staff

Would-be New York voters have until the end of the day tomorrow to register to be eligible for the Nov. 6 election. One option is a Department of Motor Vehicles online form, where state residents with driver’s licenses or nondriver identification cards can register or change their party affiliation: voterreg.dmv.ny.gov/MotorVoter. Those already registered can check their status and polling places via the Suffolk County Board of Elections website: voterlookup.elections.ny.gov.

Applications by mail must be postmarked by the end of the day tomorrow for delivery no later than Wednesday. The required form is available at most post offices, libraries, and some government offices. It can also be downloaded for printing from the New York State Board of Elections. There is also a download link at easthamptonstar.com/vote.

Absentee ballots must be postmarked no later than Nov. 5. They can be hand-delivered to a voter’s polling place on Election Day if all else fails.
