‘Lulu’ From the Met

The Met: Live in HD will return to Guild Hall Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with the artist and director William Kentridge’s production of “Lulu,” a three act opera by the Austrian composer Alban Berg that premiered in 1937.

Marlis Petersen, a soprano, plays the title role of Berg’s notorious femme fatale in a wild journey of love, obsession, and death. Other cast members include Susan Graham, Daniel Brenna, and Johan Reuter. Tickets are $22, $20 for members, and $15 for students.

Victoria Bond, a renowned composer and conductor, will give a 30-minute preopera lecture on “Lulu” at 11:30 a.m. as part of her “Operatif” series of talks. Tickets are $30. Donors of $200 or more will receive two complimentary tickets.
