Main Street, East Hampton, Briefly Closed After Crash

By
Star Staff

A portion of East Hampton Village Main Street was closed for over an hour on Tuesday morning after a three-vehicle collision near Mill Hill Lane and the Baker House inn.

According to witnesses, the approximately 10 a.m. crash involved a westbound septic waste truck that struck an oncoming minivan and a third vehicle.

The vehicles — a Grant Heating and Cooling car, a Callahead portable sanitation truck, and the beige minivan — were damaged significantly on their front ends and had to be towed away.

Police requested an ambulance and paramedic, apparently to examine the driver of one of the vehicles, who sustained a minor injury.

Eastbound Main Street traffic was diverted onto James Lane and westbound traffic onto Buell Lane.
