At the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill.

Mortified Live, a storytelling event in which adults share their childhood writings, art, lyrics, plays, home movies, and other media in front of total strangers, will bring its comic excavation of the strange and extraordinary to the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill Saturday at 6 p.m.

Mortified began in 2002, when the discovery of an unsent teenage love letter led to an email asking people if they knew anyone who wanted to “share the shame” of their childhood writings onstage. While the live programs are the heart of its mission, Mortified has spawned a documentary film, two books, a weekly podcast, and a Sundance TV interview series.

Embarrassing, hilarious, and heartrending readings will be presented by members of Mortified NYC and a few East Enders willing to expose the sins of their youth. Tickets are $10, free for members and students. The show is recommended for ages 18 and up.
