Parker, Heilmann, and Homes are Guild Hall Academy Honorees
Guild Hall’s 31st Academy of the Arts Lifetime Achievement Award dinner will take place on March 8 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Rainbow Room in Manhattan. Each year the academy honors notable figures in the performing, visual, and literary arts who are either part-time or full-time residents of the East End.
This year’s honorees are Sarah Jessica Parker in performing arts, Mary Heilmann, whose visual arts award will be presented by Adam Weinberg, director of the Whitney Museum of American Art, and A.M. Homes, who will receive her literary arts award from Roseanne Cash. Charlotte Moss and Barry S. Friedberg will be honored for their leadership and philanthropy by Howard Milstein.
Eric Fischl, president of the academy, who will host the dinner, will announce the introduction of Guild Hall’s artist-in-residence program. Beginning in the spring, five artists will be housed for an eight-week period in Guild House, adjacent to the museum, to enable them to have the time and space to do their work and have access to networking and mentoring opportunities.
Tickets for cocktails and dinner are priced from $1,500. Young patron tickets, for ages 21 to 40, are $500 for cocktails and dinner, $100 for cocktails only. Proceeds from the evening will benefit Guild Hall.
