Seeding Workshop

At Quail Hill Farm in Amagansett
By
Star Staff

Despite this week’s snowfall, a sure sign of spring is the announcement of a seeding workshop at Quail Hill Farm in Amagansett on March 19 from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will work side by side with Scott Chaskey, the farm’s director, and Layton Guenther, its manager, to plant a variety of seeds in trays destined first for the farm’s greenhouse and eventually to its fields.

Participants will also learn  how to create compost from kitchen and garden scraps and use it to enhance soil. They will be invited to return on May 21 when the seedlings go into the fields. The workshop will take place rain or shine.
