Comedy Is Back at Bay Street

Mon, 07/18/2022 - 17:52
The comedian Julia Scotti will perform on Saturday evening at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor.

Comedy will return to Sag Harbor when the Bay Street Theater Comedy Club welcomes Julia Scotti on July 30 at 8 p.m. In addition to performing at comedy clubs across the country, she is the star of Susan Sandler's documentary "Julia Scotti: Funny That Way," and Showtime's "More Funny Women of a Certain Age."

Ms. Scotti, who has two comedy albums to her credit -- "Primal Cuts" and "Hello Boys, I'm Back!" -- was named one of the top five transgendered comedians in the country by Advocate magazine.

Anita Wise, a stand-up comedian and frequent guest of Johnny Carson and Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show," will open for Ms. Scotti. Tickets start at $49.

Say Cheese (or Caviar), Day or Night

Self Provisions, a storefront attached to Cavaniola’s Gourmet Cheese in Sag Harbor, is “always open,” as is proclaimed by an illuminated sign on the wall at the entrance. Two large, brightly lit vending machines dominate the space, with offerings ranging from sea salt crackers and slabs of French butter to jars of caviar and curated gift boxes — and, of course, cheese.
