Quilting Workshop
William Daniels, an independent curator and artist who works primarily with textiles, will lead a quilting workshop at The Church in Sag Harbor on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Participants will be guided through the process and technique of quilting by hand as they transform ordinary textiles into unique compositions. Each student will plan, develop, and create a 24-by-24-inch quilt block, while learning basic quilting skills, tricks, and techniques.

Quilting has historically been an outlet for creative expression, storytelling, and resistance, and Mr. Daniels's own work engages with contemporary issues.

The cost is $125, which includes all supplies and equipment. No previous knowledge of quilting or textiles is required.

Native Long Island
"On This Site: Native Long Island," a solo show of work by Jeremy Dennis, a fine-art photographer and member of the Shinnecock Nation, will open at the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton on Saturday, with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m.

Mr. Dennis, who is the founder of Ma's House & BIPOC Art Studio on the Shinnecock Reservation, is well known for his staged supernatural images that transform myths and legends into intricately detailed photographs.

His exploration of Indigenous identity, culture, and assimilation has also found expression in his "On This Site" series, which uses photographs and an interactive map to showcase culturally significant Native American sites on Long Island.

Color Field Abstractions
Pat Lipsky, an American artist associated with lyrical abstraction and color field painting, is having a solo exhibition at Eric Firestone Gallery's NoHo outpost, 4 Great Jones Street, from Friday through Dec. 22, with a reception set for Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

"Pat Lipsky: Color World" focuses on her "Wave" paintings, created between 1969 and 1975, as well as some recent paintings that respond to her historic work.

Exuberant and fresh, according to the gallery, the "Wave" paintings are painted in one shot in acrylic on unprimed canvas, with color bands in loose formations that dissolve at the edges into drips and splatters. The images do not extend to the edges of the canvas, but float in empty space.

White Room on the Move
The White Room Gallery, a longtime fixture in Bridgehampton, will open its new, larger space at 3 Railroad Avenue in East Hampton on Saturday with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m.

"Colorful Interpretations," the opening exhibition, is dedicated to the power of color, says the gallery, noting among other things that jail cells painted Pepto Bismol pink were found to alleviate aggression.

The show will include works by Craig Alan, Cabell Molina, Russell Young, Seek One, Markus Klinko, and Bob Tabor, among others.

Slater's Life
"Autobiography," a show of paintings by David Slater, will open at MM Fine Art in Southampton on Saturday with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. and continue through Nov. 26.

The exhibition is an intimate look at the formative events of Mr. Slater's life that he has channeled into his work. Each of his paintings is a kaleidoscope of symbols, dreams, memories, and religious beliefs, according to the gallery.
