An event marking the 50th anniversary of hip-hop will happen at Canoe Place Inn and Cottages in Hampton Bays on Sunday at 5 p.m. Chuck D, co-founder and leader of the pioneering rap group Public Enemy, will sit down with Chris Cuomo, the NewsNation anchor, to discuss hip-hop's rise from the street to the world stage.
A social activist, producer, and visual artist, Chuck D was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of Public Enemy in 2013, and earned a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. He is the author and illustrator of "Livin' Loud," which includes over 250 of his paintings, sketches, and drawings, with commentary tracing his musical and artistic trajectory.
