Jazz Quintet's American Debut

The Daahoud Salim Quintet will make its American debut at the Southampton Arts Center as part of Hamptons Jazz Fest.

Next up in the Hamptons Jazz Fest at the Southampton Arts Center is the Daahoud Salim Quintet, which will make its American debut on Saturday at 7 p.m. Led by Mr. Salim, a pianist and composer, the group was created in Amsterdam in 2015 and has performed in concert halls and at festivals across Europe.

Their music is based on compositions by Mr. Salim and his father, Abdu Salim, one of the pioneers of jazz in Spain and the founder of the first school of jazz in Andalusia. Mr. Salim will be accompanied by Bruno Calvo, trumpet; Pablo Martinez, trombone; Hendrik Muller, double bass, and Andreu Pitarch, drums.

Tickets for the program, which is presented in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center on the Road, are $20, $15 for members.
