The Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center will hold an evening of poetry and jazz, featuring a reading and book signing by Yesenia Montilla, an Afro-Latina poet, and a jazz performance by Gregson Pigott, next Thursday at 7 p.m.

Ms. Montilla's poetry has been published in the American Academy of Poets' Poem-a-Day series, Prairie Schooner, Gulf Coast, and "The Best American Poetry" of 2021 and 2022. She will read from her just-released book "Muse Found in a Colonized Body," which has been nominated for an N.A.A.C.P. Image Award.

Tickets are $10 on eventbrite, $15 at the door. Ms. Montilla will offer a workshop for the center's "Dream Teens" before the public reading.
