Stand-Up Weekend
The Sticks and Stones Comedy Club at the Southampton Cultural Center will feature two shows by Marina Franklin on Friday at 7 and 9 p.m., and a pair by D'yan Forest on Saturday at the same times.
Ms. Franklin has appeared at national comedy venues and comedy festivals worldwide. Her credits include the one-hour special "Single Black Female," Hulu's "Life and Beth," FX's "Hysterical," "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," Showtime's "Women Who Kill," and Judd Apatow's film "Trainwreck."
At 89, Ms. Forest holds the Guinness World Record as the oldest working female comedian. She has performed at Joe's Pub, Gotham Comedy Club, Le Poisson Rouge, and the Broadway Comedy Club, and she has recently been featured on "The Drew Barrymore Show" and "Time Out New York."
Tickets to each show start at $35.
Silent Disco
As in years past, Guild Hall will celebrate the end of the summer season with a silent disco-dance party in its garden, on Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. Guest D.J.s will spin songs from the 1970s to today, broadcast to wireless headphones.
Wine, beer, cocktails, and snacks will be available for purchase at the coffee bar, located in the front lobby. Headsets can be rented on site, but advance reservations have been recommended.
Tickets are $15, $12 for members.
Classical Music Fest
As reported here previously, the Hamptons Festival of Music will take place at LTV Studios in Wainscott, starting on Sunday at 4 p.m. with a classical concert featuring Pepe Romero, a guitarist. The program will include music by Haydn, David Leisner, Wagner, and Mendelssohn.
Subsequent shows will happen on Friday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m., featuring compositions by Bizet, Copland, and Mozart, and on Sept. 10 at 4 p.m., with music by Dvorak and Beethoven.
Tickets to each concert are $150; a season ticket is $400.
Jazz at the Parrish
The outdoor concerts at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill will conclude on Friday at 6 p.m. with a performance by the J.D. Allen Trio in collaboration with Hamptons Jazz Fest.
Mr. Allen, a tenor saxophonist, has worked with Betty Carter, Lester Bowie, George Cables, Jack DeJohnette, the Frank Foster Big Band, and many other jazz luminaries. His 2009 album "Shine!" was called one of the top 10 albums of the year by over 25 publications, including The Village Voice, The Boston Globe, and JazzTimes. DownBeat magazine's critics' poll named him the best composer and best tenor saxophonist of 2012.
Tickets are $25, $15 for members, their guests, senior citizens, and students, and $5 for children.
