'Love Letters' Redux
The Boots on the Ground Theater Company's production of A.R. Gurney's "Love Letters," originally scheduled for Feb. 9 but postponed due to a cast emergency, will open a three-day run Friday at the Southampton Cultural Center.

The story follows two childhood friends, Andrew and Melissa, who, over a period of 50 years, have exchanged notes, cards, and letters about boarding schools, marriage, children, divorce, and missed opportunities. Bonnie Grice, the founder of Boots on the Ground, will play Melissa, and Matthew O'Connor, Andrew.

Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 3. Tickets are $25, $15 for students under 21.

Shoots and Leaves
"Capturing the Garden," the winter lecture series at the Madoo Conservancy in Sagaponack, will pair landscape designers with the photographers who shoot their work, for three conversations starting at noon on Sunday. The designers will share their intentions, and the photographers will explain how best to capture them.

Sunday's program will feature Abby Clough Lawless, the founder of Farm Landscape Design, and Tria Giovan, a photographer. March 24 will bring Anna and Emilia DeMauro, the founders of DeMauro + DeMauro, with the photographer Doug Young. The series will conclude on April 7 with Justin Quinn, a principal of James Doyle Design Associates, and the photographer Neil Landino Jr.

Tickets are $25 per lecture, $60 for all three, and can be ordered through the website.

Focus on Eastville
The Sag Harbor Cinema launched its "Projections" series in 2021 to call attention to the work of other East End nonprofits. The village's Eastville Community Historical Society, whose mission is to link the African-American, Native American, and European cultures of historic Sag Harbor, will be the focus of the next program in the series, on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A screening of rarely seen LTV archival footage of Eastville through the ages will precede a panel discussion with Georgette Grier-Key, the historical society's executive director; Michael A. Butler, an artist and its cemetery preservation director, and Harriet Simons, its education and volunteer director.

The program is free.

Gazing Through History
"Return to Sender: Women of Color in Colonial Postcards and the Politics of Representation," a 20-minute film by Mara Ahmed, will be shown at the Montauk Library on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The film opens with three contemporary South Asian-American women who recreate British colonial postcards from the early 20th century. While their lavish traditional attire and jewelry emulate the awkward poses of the postcard women, they "subvert the male gaze by choosing actions of their own," according to the library.

A discussion with Ms. Ahmed will follow the screening.

Broadway Melodies
Farther afield, the Dramatists Guild, which advocates for the rights of playwrights, will present "Songs From Women at the Table" at 54 Below, 254 West 54th St., with shows on Monday at 7 and 9:30 p.m.

Co-hosted by the guild's president, Amanda Green, who has a house in Springs, and Christine Toy Johnson, the organization's treasurer, the shows will feature performances by a dozen Broadway stars, of music written by Lynn Ahrens, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Kirsten Childs, Gretchen Cryer, Julia Jordan, Lisa Kron, Helen Park, Rona Siddiqui, Georgia Stitt, Shaina Taub, Ms. Green, and Ms. Johnson.

Tickets and more information are available from the 54 Below website.

Virtual Music Lessons
Thanks to a partnership between Fret Zealot, a music education platform, and hoopla, a library streaming platform, free music lessons are now available to anyone holding a card from the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton.

Card holders can log into their hoopla account, which is free and available on iOS, Android, and the internet, to access guitar, bass, and ukulele lessons, ranging from beginner to advanced.

Garden Redesign
The next Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons Roundtable discussion, set for Saturday morning at 10 at the Bridgehampton Community House, will be devoted to "Designing and Reinventing Your Garden for Lower Maintenance."

Several years ago, Lydia and Jim Wallis completed a garden redesign by replacing high-maintenance plants with lower-maintenance varieties. Ms. Wallis, who is a Master Gardener and past alliance president, will be on hand that morning to talk about the transformation of their Southampton garden.

The program is open to non-members at no charge.

A Renewed Focus on Fresh Fish

Dock to Dish, a restaurant-supported fishery cooperative founded in Montauk in 2012, has new owners and a renewed focus on getting fresh-from-the-boat seafood directly into the kitchens of restaurants across the East End and the New York area. And the fact that most of the owners are also fishermen doesn’t hurt.
