New to the Parrish
The Parrish Art Museum has announced the addition of works by nine modern and contemporary artists covering a diverse range of artistic styles and eras.

"We are grateful to our dedicated friends and donors for their generous support and contributions to the growth in breadth and depth of our permanent collection," said Monica Ramirez-Montagut, the museum's executive director.

The artists whose work has been acquired are Peter Nadin, Leslee Stradford, Bastienne Schmidt, Guillermo Kutica, Gloria Vanderbilt, Ralph Scarlett, Sherron Francis, John Marin, and Rackstraw Downes.

Outdoor Sculpture
"Organic Abstraction: Contemporary Outdoor Sculpture," an exhibition organized by Cheryl Sokolow of C Fine Art, opens Thursday at the Southampton Arts Center and will remain on view through the summer.

The show emphasizes syntax and form rather than subject matter, with the handling of material and the artists' processes serving as the subject of each work.

The participating artists are Joel Perlman, Hans Van de Bovenkamp, Kevin Barrett, John Van Alstine, Norman Mooney, Arlene Slavin, Carole Eisner, Carol Ross, and Isobel Folb Sokolow.

Art That Soars
"Take to the Skies," an exhibition of work by Dalton Portella, Doug Reina, and Carl Scorza, opens Thursday at the Lucore Art Gallery in Montauk and will continue through May 14.

The show, a tribute to the beauty and freedom of flight, features paintings that highlight the world of birds, airplanes, and open skies. Mr. Portella will show watercolors and paintings of birds and skies. Mr. Reina is represented by two paintings of planes. Egrets and terns are featured in Mr. Scorza's work.

A reception will be held Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.
