Classical Concerts
The Salon Series of classical music concerts returns to the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill tomorrow at 6 p.m. with a performance by Pegasus: The Orchestra.
The ensemble includes Karen Hakobyan, the group’s artistic director and a pianist; Sergey Antonov, cellist and guest artist; Milad Daniari, contrabass and principal; Andrew Gonzalez, viola and principal; Eiko Kano, violin and concertmaster, and Elisa Sunshine, soprano and guest artist. The program will focus on vocal and chamber music by Rachmaninoff and Schubert.
Subsequent concerts will feature the Borisevich Duo (May 17) and the Sakura Duo (May 31). Tickets to each program are $45, $40 for senior citizens, $35 for members, $20 for students, and $10 for children.
The museum’s Spring Fling, a benefit for its education programs, will happen on Saturday evening from 7:30 to 11. Included will be music from Jarrell Entertainment, food by Peter Ambrose, wine, beer, cocktails, a silent auction, a scavenger hunt, and “opportunities to create your own art.”
Tickets are $300.
A Voyager’s Words
As part of a series commemorating Giovanni da Verrazzano’s voyage to North America and his discovery of New York Harbor and Long Island’s South Shore, the Montauk Library will host a reading by Robert Spiotto of “Verrazzano: In His Own Words” on Sunday at 3 p.m. The play was adapted from a letter written by Verrazzano to Francis I, the king of France.
Mr. Spiotto has been a director of programs at the Friars Club in Manhattan and a producer of special events at Hofstra University. He has written and performed musical tributes to Joel Grey, Danny Kaye, and Harry Warren.
Songbook Launch Party
While LTV’s Hamptons Summer Songbook by the Sea series won’t kick off until June 22 in Wainscott with a performance by Anna Bergman, a launch party for the series will take place on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Manhattan’s Triad Theater at 158 West 72nd Street.
Produced by Josh Gladstone, LTV’s creative director, and Donna Rubin, an independent producer, the series will feature performances by Karen Akers, Mark Nadler, Christine Andreas and Marty Silvestri, Liz Larsen and Sal Viviano, Tovah Feldshuh, Steve Ross, Karen Murphy, Mark Singer and Darcy Dunn, Alex Rybeck, and Ms. Bergman, several of whom will make advance appearances at the launch party.

Call for Actors
Auditions for Terrence McNally’s comedy “It’s Only a Play,” which will be produced in October at the Southampton Cultural Center by Boots on the Ground Theater, will be held at the cultural center on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. Bob Kaplan will direct.

Black Gardeners
Abra Lee, the author of the forthcoming “Conquer the Soil: Black America and the Untold Stories of Our Country’s Gardeners, Farmers, and Growers,” is up next in the 2024 lecture series of the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bridgehampton Community House.
Last year, Ms. Lee was named director of horticulture at Atlanta’s Historic Oakland Cemetery, that city’s oldest public park and burial ground of many of its most prominent citizens. Her writing has been published in The New York Times, Fine Gardening, and Veranda magazine.
Tickets are $10, free for members.
Seeking She-Wolves
The Neo-Political Cowgirls have announced that auditions are coming up for the group’s summer production of “The She-Wolves,” which will have runs at the LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton in August and at LTV Studios in November.
The call is for a diverse cast of women actors, ages 15 to 85, who are adept with Shakespeare, improvisation, and movement or dance. Limited Equity contracts are available, as is remuneration. Rehearsals will start on July 1.
Interested actors have been asked to email a headshot and résumé to [email protected], to indicate whether they want to audition here or in Manhattan, and to prepare a Shakespearean monologue and be ready to dress and move.
Audition dates have not yet been announced.
