Meals for Hospitals
A portion of proceeds from sales at London Jewelers in East Hampton for the remainder of this month and May will be used to provide meals for the staff at Long Island and New York City hospitals, the parent company of the jewelry boutique announced on Friday. The store is also offering health care workers 20 percent off most purchases on londonjewelers.com.
“We are so grateful to our first responders and hospital staff risking their lives to take care of others,” said Scott Udell, co-vice president and a fourth-generation member of the family that has owned the company since its founding. The meals will be delivered to the staffs of North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, Glen Cove Hospital, the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, and Mount Sinai Hospital and N.Y.U. Medical Center in Manhattan.
Help With S.B.A. Loans
YorkBridge Wealth Partners, a financial planning firm in Bridgehampton that has helped nearly 100 local businesses and independent contractors apply for forgivable loans through the federal Paycheck Protection Program, is offering to provide guidance to others, said Andrew Stern, a managing partner.
The program, overseen by the Small Business Administration, is designed to shore up businesses with fewer than 500 employees that have been impacted by the shutdown of commercial activity due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The $349 billion Congress allocated for the program has already been depleted, but more funding is expected shortly. Those looking to apply with help from YorkBridge have been asked to email [email protected].
