For Small Businesses

Two businesses here were awarded LOCAL grants at the 2024 Small Business Summit in Bethpage. Among 50 others, White’s Lumber & Millwork, which has a showroom in Wainscott, and Multi-Aquaculture Systems of Napeague each received a $5,000 grant.

Qiana White accepted the grant on behalf of White’s at the June 20 ceremony.

LOCAL is an acronym for Lifting Our Community Businesses Across Long Island. The grants were given out by Optimum Business and the LIA Foundation, a charitable affiliate of the Long Island Association.

Communicator Award

At the 30th annual Communicator Awards last month, WordHampton Public Relations received a 2024 Distinction Award in the category of Social Video — Food and Drinks for an Instagram Reel for the Clam Bar. It shows an angled shot of the Napeague eatery, as the camera rotates to reveal customers on the patio.

The award, according to a release, “is presented to projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement,” as judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts.
