The clock is ticking down to Election Day, Nov. 5. Are you ready? Today is a good day to make extra sure there’s no snafu. It takes about two seconds to confirm your voter registration on vote.org. If you have kids away at college, nag them to do the same. If you discover you aren’t yet registered, the deadline to do so online at elections.ny.gov is Oct. 26. (We’re guessing no one wants to drive to Yaphank to register in person!) You can use the same website to request your absentee ballot, should you require one. If you are a second-home owner on the South Fork who owns a primary residence in New York City, let this be another reminder: You are legally and ethically very much permitted to register here in CD-1 instead and make your vote count where it counts most.
