Lessons for Today’s Parents

Thu, 02/06/2020 - 08:54

Milton Creagh, a motivational speaker and the author of the book “Nobody Wants Your Child,” has some life lessons to share.

Friday at 6 p.m. at the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center, Mr. Creagh will give a talk titled exactly that — “Life Lessons.”

Friday’s appearance, arranged in conjunction with the Southampton Town Police Department, caps a week in which Mr. Creagh also addressed adolescents in the Bridgehampton and Southampton School Districts.

With an emphasis on finding passion and reaching goals, he “will help us look at how we process the information that we get from everyday life and how we can learn lessons from that information, good and bad,” the center said in an announcement.

Mr. Creagh himself has been influenced by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Adam Clayton Powell. His book is about parenting in modern times, and he speaks to more than 200,000 children and adults annually.

The talk is free, and refreshments will be served. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The center is at 551 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike. R.S.V.P.s have been requested at eventbrite.com.
