On Youth and Offshore Wind

Wed, 10/28/2020 - 15:15

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority will host a youth leadership and environmental justice listening session next Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The virtual event will take the form of a conversation among leaders, activists, and advocates working at the intersection of youth leadership and environmental justice, who will discuss the future of offshore wind and its implications in local communities.

The session will explore the role of youth leadership in advocating a transition to a clean energy economy, a goal of the state's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act of 2019. It will help shape a forthcoming NYSERDA-sponsored program engaging young people in the future of offshore wind.

Registration is at wind.ny.gov.
