A Fabulous Variety Show
"Traditions" is the latest virtual production from the Our Fabulous Variety Show theater company. The "curtain" rises on the eclectic show on Saturday at 7 p.m., featuring song and dance, drag queen performances, comedy and aerial performances, raffles, giveaways, and more. Activities Galore With Project Most
Project Most has fitness, art, and science-themed classes coming up for children in prekindergarten through the sixth grade.
For 3 and 4-year-olds, an oil-and-water exploration session is on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and an upcycled kaleidoscope activity happens the following Saturday at the same time. Children in kindergarten through the third grade can build their own miniature cars out of common objects on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. A version of the kaleidoscope class for this age group will be offered the following Saturday, also at 12:30 p.m.
Children in fourth through sixth grades can make their own hanging works of art on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. The following Saturday, there will be an engineering activity themed around "balance," also from 2 to 3 p.m.
There are also Spanish-language lessons for children on Saturdays through Dec. 19. The session for 4-year-old prekindergarten students, along with kindergartners and first graders, is from 10 to 11 a.m. A session for first and second graders is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Kids' fitness classes, for those in second through fifth grades, are also on Saturdays through Dec. 19. Exercises are incorporated into fun games and confidence-building activities from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Project Most workshops are $20 or $15 for members. Classes are held at the East Hampton Neighborhood House and are limited in size, so advance registration is necessary. An email can be sent to [email protected] to sign up.
Literature Live!
This year's edition of Literature Live at Bay Street Theater is an online, recorded performance of the classic Herman Melville novel "Moby-Dick" through Dec. 31. Adapted for middle and high school students, the recording is available for 24 hours from the time of a ticket purchase. Each ticket is $23 and can be used for viewing on one electronic device only.
Page Turners
The East Hampton Library has a new book discussion and online activity group for kids in grades six through eight. Called Page Turners, it will meet virtually on the first Thursday of each month from 4 to 5 p.m., with today's session a meet-and-greet for new members.
For young adults who love mysteries, there will be a discussion of "In the Hall With the Knife" on Wednesday at 7 p.m. through the John Jermain Memorial Library. More information is online at johnjermain.org.
Trim the Tree
Teens who would like to earn an hour of community service can help decorate the East Hampton Library's Christmas tree with bird-friendly ornaments on Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Masks and social distancing will be required.
