LTV, East Hampton Town's public access station, has announced a new scholarship program "to support community media and free speech." The scholarship is intended for students with a dedication to community, love of media, and belief that all people should have access to accurate and unfiltered information.

Applications are being accepted through May 31 from any graduating high school student living in East Hampton Town who is seeking secondary education in communications, media, or related fields. A personal essay on the importance of free speech and a link to a short video or audio submission are required in the application.

The first of two $500 scholarship awards will be made in June. LTV says it is looking for candidates who demonstrate school and community involvement as well as academic achievement. LTV will also offer the possibility of an internship to winners. All details can be found on the website at ltveh.org/ltvcommunityscholarship.
