Eggs Galore

In lieu of an in-person Easter egg hunt this year, the Children's Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton will offer take-home egg-hunt kits for families starting March 12. The cost is $30 per kit, which includes a dozen eggs filled with prizes and treats. Private egg hunts and other eggcellent fun at the museum can also be scheduled for a higher fee.

Kits can also be bought for donation to families in need. Information on all options is online at sforce.co/3b5mrQd. The museum is open six days a week for normal visiting hours, for which reservations ahead of time are required.

Inspiring Women

The East Hampton Library is celebrating Women's History Month with a writing and art contest for teens. High school students who live in the library district (East Hampton, Springs, or Wainscott) can send in up to three submissions of writing, art, or photography that honor influential women in their lives. Work can be emailed to [email protected], which will qualify participants for raffle prizes.

This weekend, the library's take-and-make project for teens is birdhouses. Participants can earn community service credits by completing a birdhouse over the weekend and returning it to the library on Monday. Advance reservations are required by calling 631-324-0222, extension 5, and kits can be picked up tomorrow between 2:30 and 4:45 p.m.

On Tuesday from 4 to 4:45 p.m., kids ages 9 to 11 can make gumball-inspired art with pompoms during a live-streamed library class. Supplies can be picked up ahead of time in the children's room. Sign-up is by calling 631-324-0222, extension 2.

Ice Skates and Show Tunes

On Sunday, Bay Street Theater will have a private, Broadway-theme ice-skating party for kids and teens at the Buckskill Winter Club in East Hampton from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The cost is $25 and includes skate rental and a gift bag. Hot chocolate and snacks will be available for purchase. Only 80 people will be admitted, so advance sign-up at sforce.co/303y0B is mandatory.

Tap Into Nature

What's the difference between a turtle and a tortoise? On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., educators at the South Fork Natural History Museum in Bridgehampton will help kids and adults learn how to tell them apart. The program will be held via Zoom.

If the weather has been rainy enough, an all-ages salamander search will be held in Montauk on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Participants will learn the location upon registration. Flashlights and boots are required. Adult admission is $10, children's admission is $7, and museum members can attend for free.

SoFo will also lead a beach walk on Sunday at 10 a.m. at Shinnecock Inlet East to see seals and other wintertime inhabitants of the ecosystem. Adult admission is $10, children's admission is $7, and the walk is free for museum members. Registration for all SoFo programs is by emailing [email protected] or calling 631-537-9735.
