In Person With Project Most
Project Most's newest offerings include a monthly sewing club, starting April 24 at 9:30 a.m., in which kids ages 6 and up can learn the basics of hand-sewing, and a double-Dutch rope-jumping class, April 24, at 10:45 a.m. for kids in kindergarten through the third grade. A T-shirt print making class for children in first grade and up is Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
This month's STEAM activities for 3 and 4-year-olds include magnet activities on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by bamboo engineering workshops at 11:30 a.m. for kids in kindergarten through third grade and 1 p.m. for kids in fourth through sixth grades. Next Saturday there will be tube-car racing for the 3 and 4-year-olds at 9:30 a.m., clothespin-button racers for kindergarten through third grade at 11:30 a.m., and geometric-dot art class for kids in fourth through sixth grades at 1 p.m.
The cost for each class is $20 or $15 for members, except for print making, which costs $35 per student. Also available are conversational Spanish classes, fitness activities, and private tutoring. All of Project Most's Saturday classes are at East Hampton Neighborhood House, 92 Three Mile Harbor Road. Advance sign-up is required at projectmost.org/workshops-events.
Teens Rock at Guild Hall
Tomorrow night at 8 is Guild Hall's monthly teen open-mike night, where they can perform music, poetry, comedy, spoken word, dance, monologues, and other personal works. Naomi the drag queen will host. On Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., there will be a candle-making workshop, also for teens. Sign-up for both is at guildhall.org.
Parrish Art Projects
The Parrish Art Museum's next family art workshop is Sunday at 1 p.m. The in-person class will focus on illusion drawing. The cost is $5 per child or adult museum member, and $10 per adult nonmember.
Also at the Parrish, a four-week pottery workshop starts Saturday for children in grades one through six. Each class is from noon to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $90 for kids who are members and $120 for nonmembers. Another session starts May 15.
Earth Day Happenings
Just in time for Earth Day, the Montauk Library is offering take-and-make bird feeder kits on a first-come-first-served basis between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
In Search of Peepers
The South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center will host an all-ages nature walk to learn about the peepers, a native Long Island tree frog species that is considered the harbinger of springtime, on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Vineyard Field behind the museum. SoFo's Young Birders Club, for kids ages 8 and up, will meet on Sunday at 10 a.m. at the museum.
