Registration for summer academics in the East Hampton School District is coming up for high school students seeking to improve their grades and complete graduation requirements and for elementary and middle school students who need extra help in reading, math, or writing. All classes are held at the high school, running from July 5 through Aug. 5.

For high school students, sign-up is June 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and June 30 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the high school lobby. Students can take up to two courses during the summer program. Choices include algebra, bilingual algebra, geometry, global history and geography, U.S. history and government, living environment, earth science, economics, and all levels of English. Transportation will not be provided except to students commuting from Montauk, where a bus will depart from the gazebo on the green at 6:50 a.m. and return after classes at 12:10 p.m.

Parents of elementary and middle school students who feel extra help is needed should contact their child's teacher or Richard King, the summer school principal, at 631-329-4203. Children should take a snack with them each day, and transportation is provided if needed. More information is on the district website, easthamptonschools.org.
