Not only have Abigail Corish and Eve Iulo spent many hours volunteering, but their commitment to academics has also paid off. Abigail and Eve have earned the ranks of valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the class of 2022 at Pierson High School in Sag Harbor.

Abigail has a grade-point average of 104.65, while Eve’s is 102.95. They are both students in the school’s International Baccalaureate program, taking the toughest classes that Pierson offers.

Abigail serves as treasurer of the senior class and Student Council and as president of the Interact Club. She volunteers at the Retreat shelter in East Hampton, tutors younger students, and takes part in blood drives, balancing those activities with ballet and a part-time job. She will attend the University of Virginia next year.

Eve is Student Council president and co-editor of The Hypothetical, the school’s newspaper. She takes part in the Environmental and Interact Clubs. Outside of school, she volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters, is an ambassador of the Pad Project, and works as a food pantry volunteer, intern, and researcher at the Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton. She will attend Colgate University next year
