Not Too Late for Absentee School Ballots

Thu, 05/12/2022 - 13:05

Monday is the deadline for voters to request an absentee ballot for the annual school budget vote and board member elections. Voters must request them from their respective school district clerks; applications for such ballots are generally available on the schools' websites or in person in the administrative offices.

Filled-out absentee ballots must be received by the district clerks no later than 5 p.m. on the day of the vote, which is Tuesday.

As was the case last year, voters may cite Covid-19 as a reason for requesting an absentee ballot in addition to the usual reasons: being physically away from the election district on the day of the vote, temporary or permanent illness or disability, caretaking for a family member who is ill or disabled, detention in a correctional facility if convicted of charges other than felonies, or status as a resident or patient at a veterans hospital.
