Fairies on Parade

Calling all flower fairies — and their sun, water, and earth-fairy friends — you won’t want to miss this. The Amagansett Library and Amber Waves Farm are teaming up for a colorful fairy-themed parade, set for Wednesday afternoon.

The library is the meeting place at 4:15, with step-off time at 4:30. The parade route goes all the way to the farm — safely, using the sidewalk. Kids of all ages are invited to take part, though everyone must be accompanied by an adult.

Evan Harris, the Amagansett children’s librarian, is the contact for more information. The library’s phone number is 631-267-3810. Ms. Harris can also be reached at [email protected].

The library will host a community-service event tomorrow for kids in eighth through 12th grades. From 3 to 3:45 p.m., a Cornell Cooperative Extension educator will lead participants in the making of eelgrass “tortillas” out of burlap to improve eelgrass habitats locally. These will then be planted by Cornell divers later on.
