Get Ready to Babysit

Preteens and teenagers interested in babysitting have two chances coming up to learn the do’s and don’ts of the job.

At the East Hampton Library on Saturday, there will be a three-hour class for students in sixth through 12th grades to learn “the skills necessary for the responsibility of being a sitter,” the library says on its website. The time is 1 to 4 p.m., and advance sign-up is required either online via the library’s event calendar or by phone at 631-324-0222, extension 2.

The Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton is offering a similar program on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to noon for students in fifth through ninth grades. The cost is $25 per student. Registration is online at cmee.org.
