Sew Much Fun

The art of sewing is enjoying a resurgence in popularity among young people thanks to the rise of Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest, and Project Most is here for it.

The organization’s Sewing Club will convene at the Most Holy Trinity school building in East Hampton on the next two Saturdays, first to make pajama pants and then to sew felt animals. This Saturday the fun is for kids 7 to 12, involving some machine sewing, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The following weekend, which is for kids 5 to 12 who are beginners, the sewing will be done by hand from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. On Dec. 9, the sewing project will be winter scarves and hats from 2 to 3:30 p.m. All sewing classes cost $25; sign-up must be done online at projectmost.org.

Project Most also has a T-shirt printing program this Saturday for kids 7 to 12 with Kym Fulmer, a popular teacher whose work has also appeared in East magazine. The class runs from 1 to 2 p.m. and costs $35. When registering, parents should indicate the shirt size their child requires.
