Oh, Romeo, Romeo

After working with teaching artists from Shakespeare & Company over the past several weeks, the students of the Hayground School will present the fruits of their labor, a production of “Romeo and Juliet,” today at 1 and 6 p.m. in the Bridgehampton School auditorium.

Under the mentorship of Ellie Bartz, JoJo McDonald, Kirsten Mulrenan, and Naire Poole, who traveled from the theater company’s home base in Lenox, Mass., students from ages 3 to 13 immersed themselves in Shakespeare’s play, not only learning speaking roles but also helping to design, build, and decorate sets. The productions are free and open to the public.
