Slime Party, and an Art Camp Look-Ahead
Ahh, slime — kids still can’t seem to get enough of it.
Hamptons Community Outreach is throwing a Slime Party from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at The Church, the arts center in Sag Harbor, for kids ages 4 and up. There’s an added benefit, too — the party will serve as a fund-raiser to pay for school trips for children whose families cannot otherwise afford them. Admission is $40 and can be paid by Venmo to @Hamptons-CommunityOutreach; be sure to include your child’s name and age.
Looking ahead to summer, the organization has also opened up registration for its popular art camp for kids 6 to 12, running five days each week at The Church and the Old Whalers Church (except for the week of July 3, when the July 4 holiday bumps it down to four days). Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. “Each day will bring new, exciting projects that will include drawing, painting, printmaking, mask making, beading, pottery, sculpture, sewing, collage, slime making, cooking, planting, water play, and outdoor games,” the camp said in an announcement.
Weeklong sessions run July 3 through Aug. 7 and cost $1,000 per week ($800 for the short week). Lunch is available at $11 per day. Sibling discounts are also available. Payments are refundable through May 1, though a 5-percent administrative fee would be deducted. The organization also offers financial aid, and has put out a call for donations and sponsors to support that effort.
