It’s Shark Week at SoFo

A special celebration of all things shark will begin on Tuesday at the South Fork Natural History Museum in Bridgehampton.

“Incorporating scientific data directly from our team of collaborating scientists, the interactive exhibit includes a virtual shark tagging experience, satellite tracking maps, photos from the field, and all kinds of biological factoids about our local sharks,” SoFo says on its website. Admission to the exhibit is free for children 12 and under through July 18.

Also at SoFo, there will be a Sculpey clay class focusing on cute animal sculptures on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The program, to be led by the clay artist Ruby Jackson, is for children 5 and under and is free to attend.

On Sunday at 10:30 a.m., a program titled Make a Fish, Take a Fish is for kids 6 and up. Admission is $10 for children and $15 for adult companions, plus a $3 materials fee. Museum members receive free admission.

For kids and teens 10 and up, there will be a visit to the East End Classic Boat Shop in Amagansett on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Admission is free.

Advance registration is required for all SoFo programs, and can be done online via the events calendar at sofo.org. More information can be had by calling 631-537-9735.
