Porgies Galore!
The East Hampton Sportsmen's Alliance is hosting a family fishing trip at sunset on Tuesday aboard the Miss Montauk. Children under 17 can join the fun for free.
The alliance describes the outing as a "fun, introductory experience for young anglers," with the goal of catching "porgies galore." Kids as young as 6 can use rods, reels, line, terminal tackle, and bait for free as they learn to fish. Children under 6 can come along but may not take part. A prize of a Snapper fishing rod will be awarded for the heaviest catch.
The Miss Montauk sails promptly at 5 p.m. out of the Montauk Marine Basin at 426 West Lake Drive. Admission for adult members of the Alliance costs $75 and allows the grown-up to take three children along. For four or more children, admission is an additional $30. For adult nonmembers, the excursion costs $90 and allows two kids on board. Admission is $30 for each additional child. Tickets and Sportsmens Alliance memberships can be purchased bought at bit.ly/446UTCo.
