What on Earth Is ZTag?
A new take on the game of laser tag, ZTag is coming to the East Hampton Library. The game uses watchlike devices called ZTaggers — essentially miniature computers — "that are equipped with high-tech sensors, speakers, and an LCD screen to show live updates," the library says on its website. Two sessions happen on Saturday evening, one from 6:30 to 7:30 and another from 7:30 to 8:30, for students in grades six through 12.
The East Hampton Library is also launching a Podcast Club for high school students. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday from 4 to 5 p.m.
Finally, on Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m., kids 7 to 10 can take part in a STEM challenge to build the tallest balloon tower. Sign-up for all library events is online through the event calendar.
Big, Big Building Blocks
For children who love to build, the Montauk Library is the place to be on Saturday morning. From 11 a.m. to noon, kids can create life-size buildings using a lightweight 99-piece foam block set made to resemble real cinder blocks, wood planks, and bricks. Sign-up is online at montauklibrary.org.
For Lovers of Autumn
Fall fun is in full swing at the John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor, which will welcome students in grades five through eight to taste-test all things pumpkin spice — candy, juice, chips, and other products — on Tuesday from 4 to 5 p.m.
Next Thursday at the library, crafty students in middle and high school are invited to create leaf-theme candleholders to brighten up their houses. The workshop is from 4 to 5 p.m. Both activities require advance sign-up online at johnjermain.org.

To Celebrate Veterans Day
Tomorrow from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton, children 5 to 7 can take part in a community service project: making cards and crafts to be shared with local veterans in honor of Veterans Day. Sign-up is online at myhamptonlibrary.org.
A Classic 'Circus'
The classic Charlie Chaplin film "The Circus," released in 1928, is the family matinee this weekend at the Sag Harbor Cinema. Hilarious hijinks ensue when a petty criminal hides from the police with the circus and accidentally becomes a performer. Tickets cost $18.50 for adults and $14.50 for children 12 and under, with a discount available for members and Southampton Town residents, and can be bought online at sagharborcinema.org.
