Fresh Kinds of Fun

Project Most has dreamed up some fun new offerings for kids, with a new session of winter programs beginning Saturday.

“Adventures in Greek Mythology and Latin,” for children 11 to 14, will run Saturdays from noon to 1 p.m. in January, February, and March. Through hands-on projects, stories, games, and art, students will learn about Greek mythology and Latin language roots, “guaranteed to improve reading skills and vocabulary,” Project Most says in a class description. The cost is $100 per session.

A four-week photo portrait and collage workshop for students in the fifth through eighth grades starts Jan. 22, and runs from 3:30 to 5 p.m. for four weeks. Linda K. Alpern, a Sag Harbor artist and photographer, will teach photography techniques and multimedia collage methods. The cost is a $20 materials fee. The workshop repeats with a nature theme starting Feb. 26.

A new chess club for children 5 to 14 will run weekly on Saturdays, starting this week, from 1 to 2 p.m. at a cost of $25 per class.

Returning for the winter is the Friday Pre-Teen Project, every other Friday evening from 6 to 8:30, starting tomorrow. Pizza and drinks are included; admission is free. Other familiar offerings returning include soccer, Lego Club, team-building games, STEM, arts and crafts, e-Sports, and more. All programs take place at the Most Holy Trinity School, 44 Meadow Way in East Hampton. Registration is online at projectmost.org.
