Family Night at Duck Creek

For parents looking for wholesome activities to do with their kids this summer, the Duck Creek Arts Center in Springs may be an answer: Family Night, kicking off Monday and running four more Mondays in July and August, featuring music, crafts, and food with “a special emphasis on creative expression.”

GianCarlo Feleppa, a popular local musician, will be the headliner on Monday, with 123 Andres, a Latin Grammy-winning duo, performing on July 15. The Shinnecock Boys and Girls Club will present an educational program called “Shinnecock Perspectives” on July 22. Goat on a Boat Puppet Theater will perform on Aug. 5, and the series will conclude with Flor Bromley, a Latin Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, on Aug. 12.

All sessions are from 5 to 7 p.m. and include food and beverages.

“We want this completely free art and music series to be as accessible as possible to East End families,” said Jess Frost, executive director of Duck Creek. “Sharing meals is part of how neighbors build community, and we hope by providing dinner sourced from our very generous local restaurants we can open up a little more time in the day for family creativity.”

More information can be found on the organization’s website, duckcreekarts.org.
