A Carnival of Art for Kids

The Art Barge on Napeague, a nonprofit institute formally also known as the D’Amico Institute of Art, continues Victor and Mabel D’Amico’s tradition of the Children’s Art Carnival this summer in weeklong sessions.

The Art Barge describes its method as a “motivation-based educational approach [that] allows children to immerse themselves in their own unique creative process. Studio time will include a dynamic array of indoor and outdoor drawing, painting, collage, and/or sculpture activities.”

Sessions are from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cost for the week is $375, which includes all materials. From July 22 through July 26, the workshop is for kids 12 to 14 years old. From Aug. 5 through Aug. 9, the activities are appropriate for children 6 to 8, and from Aug. 12 through Aug. 16, the activities are geared toward children 9 to 11.

The website for more information is damico-art.org and the phone number is 631-267-3172.
