Amaden Gay Agencies in East Hampton will award two $10,000 scholarships to graduating East Hampton High School seniors who are heading off to a trade or technical school. The scholarships will be paid out over two years to help defray tuition costs. Qualifying programs range from automotive repair to barbering, computer science, construction, cosmetology, hospitality, and culinary, marine, and the medical and health fields.

The brokerage did not award scholarships last year, but two graduates from the class of 2023 received the scholarships and are now in their second years of study. Kayden Daige of Wainscott attends Island Drafting and Technical Institute in Amityville, where he’s working toward an associate’s degree in computer-aided drafting and design. William Raynor of Montauk is earning an associate’s degree in automotive repair from the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

In addition to telling the selection committee about themselves, their anticipated areas of study and applicable courses taken or jobs and internships held during high school, applicants are asked to provide at least two letters of recommendation: one from a teacher, coach, or administrator, and one from an employer or supervisor.

Scholarship applications are due by March 10 and can be requested by calling 631-324-0041, extension 328, or emailing [email protected].
