Springs Notebook: A Spectacular Fund-Raiser

Wed, 02/12/2025 - 22:02
Springs students are excited for special treats this week: bagels to offset the cost of the school’s literary magazine and Valentine’s Day candy to support the graduating eighth-grade class.

Springs School is kicking off the midway point of the year with two new fund-raisers. Amanda Pond’s class initiated the bagel fund-raiser and the PTA is having its Valentine’s Day candy-gram fund-raiser.

Bagel sales will raise money to support the development of the school’s High Tide Literary and Art Magazine, which is a collection of students’ writing and artwork from throughout the school year. To help offset the cost of publishing the magazine, students can buy a bagel lunch from Goldberg’s. Every child can order a plain bagel with butter or a plain bagel with cream cheese for $5.

The money raised from the Valentine’s Day candy-grams will benefit the eighth-grade class. The heart-shape lollipops cost $3 and heart-shape boxes of chocolates are $6. Students bought the candy-grams on Jan. 31 for delivery to their special person tomorrow, on Valentine’s Day.
