The East Hampton School District celebrated retiring staff members, including Kerri Stevens, the district clerk and secretary to the superintendent, who is leaving after 35 years in the district.

“Her institutional knowledge is second to none,” the superintendent, Adam Fine, said. “Her intuition, as it relates to the district, has provided multiple superintendents with a supportive and loyal assistant.”

“Carrie has shaped a lot of what you see at this district,” said J.P. Foster, the school board president. “When I came in, you were always there. If there was a question, whatever it might be, Kerri always had an answer, or if she didn’t know the answer, she’d find the answer.”

Mr. Fine referred to her as “simply the best administrative assistant this district has ever seen. . . . Your constant and steady presence at board meetings will be sorely missed. . . . There is not enough time for me to accurately describe how valuable she is to this district and to the many overall functions of the superintendency.”

She will be moving to Montana with her husband after the school year ends. Also retiring this year are Joan Cangelosi, Patty Conigliaro, Lorna McMullan Cook, Karen Crowley, Peter Giacalone, Bernarda Rodriguez, Marian Selip, Charles Westergard, and Lynne Yardley Brown.
